Harper Printmaking studio is open to artists in the community who would like to practice relief printmaking. My work is focused on woodcut and linoleum carving, but often incorporates other materials. The subject matter varies between representational and abstract.
My interest is in accessibility to ideas and attitudes that include all in the community.
Printmaking is not as well understood as other mediums, at least not in our local area, and I feel it is important to try and change that.
Sharing work and explaining process is key.
I don't pretend to know the meaning behind every piece I create. Sometimes it's crystal clear and other times a complete mystery. If you look and then look again, then I have accomplished something.
