Not to say this is a new approach, but in a sense it's coming at relief printing from a less rigid and formal way of making a print. There is as much to create in the spontaneous application of color as their is in the initial carving of the nearly identical blocks.
My approach to printmaking continues to be, how can I make this print different then the last? There would seem to be no end in sight, or is it possible that I am forgetting just a bit of what I've learned to want to come back and have the same conversation with the block in a slightly different way.
I am beginning to understand how it's possible to work in series, but it shouldn't ever become a rut or place of comfort to repeat the same idea.
